What Data Do We Collect and What Is It Used For?

When You Visit a Route (App):

  • An anonymous device ID that helps us differentiate between devices without personally identifying you.
  • Timestamp of the visit, so we can analyze usage patterns.
  • The app version, so we can support both older and newer versions of the app.
  • The country where the device is registered (e.g., Norway, NO) to understand where the app is used.

When You Download a Route (App):

  • Device ID, to associate the download with the correct route.
  • Timestamp of the visit, helping us analyze activity.
  • The number of map tiles downloaded, to understand usage patterns and optimize the service.
  • Whether the download request was approved or not.

When You Complete a Route (App):

  • Device ID, to associate the activity with the correct route.
  • Timestamp of the visit, to understand usage patterns.
  • The number of map tiles used, so we can calculate operational costs.
  • How many of these map tiles were retrieved from the device’s cache.

If the App Crashes:

We collect information to understand why the error occurred and to improve the app. This includes:

  • The device you are using (model and operating system).
  • The amount of storage and memory available on the device.
  • What the app was doing immediately before the crash.
  • Device ID, to analyze whether the issue affects multiple users.
