Introduction

FotsporTech AS is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is handled safely and responsibly when you use the Fotspor app. We only store information necessary for the app to function optimally for you, and we do not share data with unauthorized parties.

  • Provide route creators with insight into how their routes are being used.
  • Ensure that the service operates stably and fairly for all users.

What Data Do We Collect and What Is It Used For?

When You Visit a Route (App):

  • An anonymous device ID that helps us differentiate between devices without personally identifying you.
  • Timestamp of the visit, so we can analyze usage patterns.
  • The app version, so we can support both older and newer versions of the app.
  • The country where the device is registered (e.g., Norway, NO) to understand where the app is used.

When You Download a Route (App):

  • Device ID, to associate the download with the correct route.
  • Timestamp of the visit, helping us analyze activity.
  • The number of map tiles downloaded, to understand usage patterns and optimize the service.
  • Whether the download request was approved or not.

When You Complete a Route (App):

  • Device ID, to associate the activity with the correct route.
  • Timestamp of the visit, to understand usage patterns.
  • The number of map tiles used, so we can calculate operational costs.
  • How many of these map tiles were retrieved from the device’s cache.

If the App Crashes:

We collect information to understand why the error occurred and to improve the app. This includes:

  • The device you are using (model and operating system).
  • The amount of storage and memory available on the device.
  • What the app was doing immediately before the crash.
  • Device ID, to analyze whether the issue affects multiple users.

Legal Basis for Data Processing:

We collect this information because we have a legitimate interest in ensuring that the service operates optimally for you and other users. We strive to minimize data collection and protect your privacy.

Who Has Access to the Data?

We do not share personal data with other companies or organizations. Only employees at FotsporTech AS who need access to operate and improve the service can view the data. Some of the services we use in the app may store certain information, for example:

  • Here Maps and OpenStreetMap – to display maps. These services may store IP addresses and metadata to improve map functionality.
  • Vimeo – to play videos. Vimeo may record IP addresses when you watch a video.
  • Firebase – to store data and analyze usage. Firebase may collect information such as IP addresses and device data to improve the service.

Route creators may choose to publish links to external websites. We do not control these websites, and they have their own privacy policies that apply when you visit them.

How Long Is Data Stored?

We only store information as long as necessary for the service to function properly. Thereafter, the data is deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable regulations.
