What is a Privacy Policy?
A privacy policy describes what personal data is processed, how the data is processed, who is responsible for the processing, what rights you have as a data subject, and who you can contact about your personal data. Personal data refers to information and assessments that can be linked to an individual, such as name, phone number, email address, IP address, etc.
Data Controller
FotsporTech AS is the data controller when we process personal data about you.
Purpose and Legal Basis
Purpose: The personal data is primarily used to manage and communicate with you regarding your use of Fotspor. This includes creating and managing a user account and communicating with you about operational messages.
Legal Basis: We process only the data that is strictly necessary to deliver our services. Any additional data is processed solely with your explicit consent, in accordance with Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Processing of Personal Data
Data collected about you: When you create a user account, we ask for your email address and an optional username. You must also choose a password for login, which is encrypted and cannot be read by others.
How personal data is processed: Only employees of FotsporTech AS with a service-related need have access to your personal data. The data is processed confidentially and in accordance with privacy regulations.
Storage of personal data: Fotspor rents web hosting and servers from Webhuset AS under their service agreement.
AI-Assisted Route Planner in Editor
We have introduced a feature in Fotspor Editor that uses AI technology from OpenAI to help authors plan routes more efficiently. This feature is only available in the Editor and does not affect app usage.
What is processed:
When you use this functionality, text-based descriptions (such as starting and ending points, desired distance, and preferences for routes) may be sent to OpenAI for processing. Information such as IP address and browser information may also be sent as part of the request.
How the data is used:
The data is only used to generate route suggestions. OpenAI does not use the data to train its models, nor do they share it with third parties for marketing. However, OpenAI may store the input for up to 30 days to monitor and prevent misuse of the system.
